Let your children choose their own way

What is to be a mother? Sometimes it is a serious test. Sometimes it is a huge pain. Sometimes it is both. Only one mother knows what it is like to be a mother. You create life and then the whole responsibility falls on your shoulders.

But there is one detail – you are creating a separate individual. Different from you. Sometimes there are confrontations of views. Sometimes become whole small wars. Sometimes mothers do not find a path to their children. Sometimes children are not looking for a path to their mothers. Appears an error in the system. I have heard of stories from my acquaintances. Stories based on all sorts of complexes and all sorts of rebellions. I’ve heard of a family who is ashamed of his son because he’s gay. Because they were afraid what the neighbors would say. Shame! I’ve heard of girls fleeing from their homes because their mothers do not approve their boyfriends. For whatever reasons. They seem to want the best for them. Mothers wants their childs did not make their mistakes. They seem to have forgotten that they has been on their places and also fell in love with the inappropriate men. They has been also disappointed and wept for some beloved. Everyone has been sometimes happy and sometimes sad. Mothers who love to interfere in the lives of their heirs ,think to be able to change their destiny. But they are not. Because everyone has the right to freedom. No matter how old he is.

And I wonder – was I good enough daughter? I managed to not disappoint my parents. Maybe I have succeeded. Maybe not. I have yet to understand. I still have a long path to go. We all have a long path to go. That is what I want to say. The phrase “Life is short” is a false cliche. Life is so long that we lose any idea what to do with it at some point. Our delight and fatigue belong to us. In fact, there is only one truth: We are born to love. We were born to run.
